The Maine Advanced Buildings program is a new incentive program from Efficiency Maine that provides an incentive of $1.00/s.f. for qualifying buildings. The program makes use of the Core Performance Guidelines by the New Buildings Institute as the criteria for qualifying projects. Projects can be new or major renovations from 10,000-70,000 s.f. The Core Performance measures can be expected to achieve 20%-30% better energy performance over Maine State Energy Code.
A building that qualifies as a Maine Advanced Building also meets LEED prerequisite EAc3.1, which means this prerequisite can be achieved without the time and cost of a building energy model.
